Job Description:  AECOM is currently seeking a District Leader to grow and manage new and existing business opportunities in Southern California. The successful candidate will provide senior leadership to all of AECOM's business lines as well as drive both project/program delivery and growth.

Duties:


  • Serves as the leader of AECOM's business development and general office management activities in a defined geographic area, in coordination with the District GM, District Manager(s), Region Business Line Leader(s), Government Affairs Manager and Market Sector Leads. 
  • Is responsible for establishing AECOM as the leading provider of professional technical services across all AECOM business lines in the area.  
  • Establishes and executes the overall strategy for growth in the Southern California region.  
  • Responsible for developing and guiding new project opportunities across all business lines to ensure sustained profit growth and increasing market share within the metropolitan or geographic area.
  • Drives strategic capture efforts in collaboration with business line, market sector, district and region leadership.  
  • Facilitates interaction among local staff and decision makers in the metropolitan or geographic area. Responsible for the general management of several offices within a district.  
  • Addresses employee relations, engagement, retention and safety issues and engages district, region, SHE and Human Resources support as necessary.  
  • Convenes and leads office meetings, and ensures all district, region, geography and AECOM initiatives are delivered and executed in a positive and effective manner.
  • Responsible for maintenance and management of office space and all physical assets assigned to an office.    
  • Manages office G&A budget. Provides high level oversight and direction to project managers, technical staff and other office staff. Monitors utilization and facilitates staff balancing.  Interfaces with local area stakeholders and rovides appropriate community participation. 
  • Responsible for managing and developing employees in accordance with AECOM core values and performance management competencies, including managing talent and proactively supporting the performance management process.
  • Reinforces collaboration and team building, ensures client focus, demonstrates commitment to excellence and innovation, and motivates others to ensure positive morale and engagement.
  • Ensures that AECOM programs such as Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Ethics & Compliance are an overriding part of the organizational culture. 
  • May also serve as a Project Director, Account Manager and/or Capture Manager.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of sales, account management or business development experience.
  • Minimum 10 years operations management, p&l management, project management and/or staff management.
  • Has significant prior business experience in municipal, provincial, state or intergovernmental agency sales to establish business and achieve project goals.
  • Has extensive knowledge of the business and product offerings to support cross-discipline/business line/region collaboration.  
  • BS Engienering Professional Engineering Licence in CA.
