Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience or minimum 4 years of project experience with one of those years as a task manager.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, legal codes, practices, documents, and government regulations relevant to practice area.
• Experience with project and program management software, such as Microsoft Project, Excel based, etc.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and the ability to manage multiple, complex tasks within demanding timeframes.
• Ability to attain IE's Project Management Certification within six months of hire is required.
• Demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience.
• US Citizenship requirement because of work on federal contracts.
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.


Job Description:

The IE of URS is actively seeking a highly talented Project/Task Manager for immediate employment in support multiple FEMA & HUD contracts. The position will be based out of our Germantown, MD office, however, work will be performed in the New York City area. Some travel. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Project Management, and federal/ state and local government consulting. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

• The incumbent will manage tasks from inception through completion, including the planning, organizing, controlling and reporting to ensure that the goals and objectives of the program's cost, quality and contracts are achieved.
• Serves as the liaison between the project teams, program management staff and the client's program manager.
• Develops project teams responsible for delivering services to meet expanding client demands.
• Ensures continuous focus on quality, costs and schedule.
• Works with project managers to implement the program management plan and master schedule that shows the durations, activities and the relationships between the major activities for the entire program.
• Implements program procedures that define the responsibility, authority, and coordination among the project entities including the client, Program Manager, contractors, other agencies, etc.
• Monitors progress, identifies critical areas of concern, and indicates measures necessary to resolve issues.
• Provides reports for the different levels of management outlining project performance.
• Mitigates risk for client and program.
• Identifies sources of safety liability, safety risk, and required safety records.
• Meets regularly project teams to discuss current projects, resolve conflicts, and evaluate project performance.
• This position requires the flexibility to serve as a cross-disciplinary resource to best serve the needs of the Corporation.
