Assigned to a Data Center/Mission Critical field construction project in a supervisory or managerial position. Experience gained in Data Centers is the primary focus. Experience gained from pharmaceutical, commissioning/validation can also work nicely. Experience in electrical, MEP, cabling required. Responsible for overseeing, mananging anad directing the construction activities. May be the primary client contact for all jobsite activities, or may coordinate with client's resident representatives on jobsite activities within assigned area of operations. Responsibilities are to ensure assigned jobsite operations are in compliance with design/specifications, completion on schedule, within budget and to quality standards. Interfaces with all other field staff, particularly the Project Manager in a coordinated effort. B. Experience, Tasks and Responsibilities 1. Responsible for jobsite operations, including all onsite activities of the subcontractors, suppliers, clients and their representatives. Heavy experience dealing with the preconstruction and construction of all Mechanical / Electrical and BMS Systems within a Data Center Environment required. Ability to understand early schematic MEP design from a costing and budgeting aspect a plus. Experience with overseeing and coordinating the MEP Vendors and Trades along with the successful start up and commissioning of these systems. Knowledge and experience writing and implementing MOP's "Method of Procedure' within live environments. 2. Responsible for the field manpower organization to ensure the jobsite organization is composed of qualified and knowledgeable personnel, including those of the subcontractors and ensures effective personnel utilization. 3. Establishes, coordinates and implements construction schedules, manning charts, material and equipment requirements. 4. Controls jobsite expenditures, in assigned area, for labor, equipment, material and services and ensures field operations are within the budget. 5. Responsible for overall supervision of all personnel in assigned area of responsibility. 6. Ensures subordinate personnel receive progressive training to enable them to assume additional responsibilities. 7. Responsible for labor relations, as assigned, and coordinates the activities with designated manager and corporate Labor Relations Department. 8. Implements safety programs and ensures strict adherence to federal, state and local safety codes. 9. Administers a security plan and coordinates the activities with all parties. 10. Responsible for administration of assigned area(s) contractual activities. Participates in contract and subcontract negotiations. 11. Plans and implements procedures to ensure construction operations are continuously adhering to engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, schedules and budget. 12. Ensures corporate policies and procedures are fully implemented. C. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 1. Knowledge of all phases of construction operations relating to field activities of all engineering disciplines, all construction technologies and jobsite management. 2. Must have strong interpersonal and influencing skills needed to communicate with the variety of participants involved with a construction project. 3. Determines the priority of assignments based on critical deadlines that must be met. 4. The ability to analyze and construct details as indicated on drawings and if necessary, provide/create new methods to implement the work (i.e. work-out-of-sequence, provide scaffolding hung from the ceiling in order to work both ceiling and floor area at the same time. Requirements 1. Work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge described above in a mission critcial data center or equally technical project. 2. A recognized degree in Construction, an Engineering or construction management discipline or equivalent experience and training. Special note: This position may require travel on a project by project basis or temporary relocation for a specific project.
