TNC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Sustainable Fisheries Director directs some or all aspects of protection, science and community relations for marine efforts in the central coast region as well as global fisheries projects associated with PacFish and the Conservancy's new Global Sustainable Fisheries Priority. S/he serves as the principle contact to fishermen, government agencies, other conservation organizations, foundations and the academic community. S/he works directly with these partners at both the project and policy levels to promote innovative approaches and solutions to restoring and managing fisheries in California and globally. Geographic size and scope is diverse and will include global assignments within the Conservancy's country programs. S/he works closely with TNC's California Science and Planning unit and the Bren School to pursue relevant science and research activities and publish those findings. This may include one or more of the following functions:
