SUMMARY: The Concierge is responsible for greeting customers and providing exceptional, personalized service and educating customers about Whole Foods Market products. The Concierge may lead store tours and will assist with various marketing and store promotional projects and holiday initiatives. The Concierge is also responsible for all duties associated with the personal shopping/ provisioning program, including large or complex personal orders and hotel concierge services. DUTIES: - Greet customers and convey excitement and a positive attitude toward Whole Foods Market and its products. - Educate customers on products, offer samples and use suggestive selling. - Offer shopping assistance to customers if needed for particular meals or menu and recipe planning. - Provide stocking assistance and suggestions for customers wine cellar and pantry. - Partner with Marketing Team Leader to assist in leading tours and special events. - Stay familiar with location of products in store and keep up-to-date on department resets. - Connect with local area hotel concierges to provide monthly calendar of store events and keep them updated with Whole Foods Market concierge services. - Collaborate with Store and Regional Leadership to promote and market concierge services. - Establish and maintain business relationships that result in the regular use of the full range of services offered (catering, personal shopping, pantry stocking, etc.) - Educate Team Members on all concierge services so that all Team Members can promote the program and direct customers accordingly. - Promote and market Whole Foods Market Enhanced Tours to corporations, travel groups and convention marketers as the ultimate food experience and team-building opportunity. - Keep informed about food trends and hot items and communicate necessary information to customers. - Responsible for answering customer questions and assisting them with solving problems. - Provide personal shopping for customers, including large special orders. - Prepare all orders on time, assure order is complete and packed properly for delivery or pick up. - Answer department telephone calls and pages quickly and with excellent phone etiquette. - Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices. - Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner. - This job posting is intended to describe the general requirements for the performance of this job. REQUIREMENTS: - At least 3-5 years retail/service industry experience with a strong focus on customer service and a detailed understanding of retail operations. - Catering experience and/or sales experience preferred. - Ability to cook with or without a recipe. - Ability to perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in English. - Ability to understand and complete departmental transfers. - Ability to knowledgeably and enthusiastically communicate the product line to the customer. - Should have knowledge of or ability to learn word processing, spreadsheet, and order processing software. - Ability to prioritize and stay organized. - Ability to maintain professional and appropriate conduct.
