Position Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day to day management of the Design & Construction Packages for parts of the Phase 1A Community Housing & Infrastructure, including but not limited to city center, hotel, training center and research and development center
- Prepare task order documents for the design of specific parts of phase 1A project.
- Responsible for ensuring adequate liaison takes place between respective disciplines and also with third parties to ensure that the design deliverables fully comply with the scope definition.
- Responsibility for managing the delivery & review of quality milestone deliverables from the Consultants, to ensure that the review and sign off of all review comments by the Engineering Department are achieved within the maximum duration specified under the Contract.
- Involvement in constructability reviews to ensure efficient, practicable construction techniques are adopted, leading to quality construction, including initiating a "Safety in Design" approach through risk assessment of designs produced by the designers.
- Maintain strict change control on scope development, evaluate cost and time impact in conjunction with development management.
- Manage all engineering and development activities for a specific part of the project so that they result in schemes that are affordable, and that meet programme requirements in a safe and responsible manner for time, cost and quality
- Manage the engineering interface with other packages on the project
- Provide input to the weekly and monthly progress reports.
Other Remarks/Qualifications
- Reports to Engineering Manager.
- University degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
- Demonstrable experience in Architectural or Civil Engineering Design related work on large industrial and infrastructure jobs.
- Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer or equivalent
- An ability to work and communicate effectively in a team context.
- Strong evaluation and decision-making skills
