Manages project(s) with up to $5M contract value and $500K annual gross revenue. Plans, directs, and supervises all operations included in moderately-sized projects with moderate risk, complexity, and financial impact. Manages and leads all technical, financial, and client satisfaction areas using consistent processes and tools. May include management of small teams across business lines, in remote locations and/or management of subcontractors. Manages projects on a local to regional basis achieving quality outcomes, financial performance and client satisfaction. Successfully develops strategy, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, and executes project. Acts as primary point of contact with client. Generally has 8+ years of task and project management experience. AECOM MAP training required; PMP preferred.
- Uses functional and technical knowledge and skills to determine, control and monitor schedule, cost and quality requirements and outcomes.
- Defines project activities, applies scope controls and establishes project control systems.
- Teaches and encourages others to achieve goals.
- Measures performance against goals.
- Performs monthly project reviews and other internal reporting, including earned value.
- Understands basic margin drivers and manages project to achieve at least as-sold project margin.
- Maintains basic working capital strategy.
- Understands cost management as the appropriate method of budget control.
- Understanding of current and future wants and needs of external customers and defines and achieves client and company goals within projects.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with clients and gains their trust and respect.
- Effectively manages client expectations.
- Identifies and exploits opportunities to provide follow-on work or additional AECOM services; involves supervisor or other leadership if needed.
- Integrates elements of Project Management (Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk, Contracts and Change Management) throughout the project cycle.
- Develops scope of work and cost budgets to achieve client and AECOM goals.
- Understands scope of work both broadly in relation to overall goals and comprehensively to produced promised deliverables.
- Establishes and maintains basic project schedule.
- Develops and manages using a Project Work Plan.
- Moves self and others toward the consistent implementation of project activities throughout the project cycle.
- Integration of the elements of Project Management (Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk, Contracts and Change Management) throughout the project cycle.
- Integration of AECOM and non-AECOM elements of Project teams including differing systems and processes.
- Broad understanding of other disciplines to manage interfaces.
- Good knowledge of own technical limits.
- Consistently displays sound problem solving skills.
- Delegates effectively and provides sound guidance to Task and Work Package Managers.
