Responsible for Bechtel Business Services (BBS) work visa/immigration processes and services for the Latin American Region. Works closely with Bechtel Global Mobility Center (BGMC) and immigration service providers to process and obtain work visa for International assignees in the region. Is the focal point for subject matter knowledge and expertise on immigration issues for Latin American countries. Provides leadership and guidance to the Global Business units operating in the region as required. Develops and executes work process with Global immigration service providers as required to obtain working visas. Works closely with the responsible HR organization, BGMC, Employees and Immigration service providers to ensure timely and successful immigration services for country work authorization. Provides input and guidance on country level work visa requirements, work visa options, compliance issues and related HR/payroll work processes. Assists in the development and completion of required documentations for work visa application; job descriptions/working titles, employment contracts, power of attorney, certificate of work experience or other required supporting documentation. Updates internal or external employee assignment tracking systems as required. Develops and provides input to immigration work process, data, metrics and reports to successfully manage immigration processing cycle time. Provides backup support for BGMC and other BBS HR activities as needed. Maintains employee data, information and working files according to required confidentiality standards and best practices. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor Level Degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent education/ work experience, plus 5 years related work experience Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal) Preferred Qualifications: Experience in selection and management of expatriate service providers Ability to be proactive, flexible, and adaptive to changing priorities Experience providing direction and oversight with Global or regional service providers for Latin America assignment destinations Experience in other international HR areas; expatriate assignments and relocation, compensation and expatriate tax, destination services Good communication, interpersonal, customer service and collaboration skills Ability to exercise initiative, make decisions with little or no supervision and be accountable for such actions Ability and skills in the following areas: attention to detail, transaction accuracy and quality, prioritizing and organizing work transactions in a high volume environment Experience with Immigration processes within Latin America Advanced knowledge in Latin America Immigration/work visa processes Advance knowledge of expatriate employment compliance for immigration and tax areas Multi-Country immigration/work visa experience in Latin America Experience in development of work contract language, work visa applications and supporting documentation Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean concepts and practices for process management Solid understanding and proficiency utilizing Bechtel HR systems, work processes and policies, preferably with SAP and other proprietary HR systems Advanced knowledge of Bechtel HR policies and processes, functional organizations and organizational structure Bechtel is among the most respected engineering, procurement, and construction companies in the world.
