Our Business/Project Controls Manager job will give you the opportunity to work on exciting, large-scale oil and gas projects. You will be an important team member as you lead efforts to oversee the Project Controls efforts on projects to achieve the project delivery strategic objectives such as health, safety, environmental responsibility; client expectations for quality, schedule, and budget; financial performance for project-specific targets; project team expectations; operational performance and business unit expectations; and quality.

You must have a Bachelors Degree along with a minimum of 12 years progressively responsible project controls experience. Proficiency with PC operating systems and with multiple discipline software applications currently used at CH2M HILL. The proper candidate must be able to implement the Business Group standards in processes and systems and be able to identify and solve project specific issues in execution as compared to those standards. A thorough knowledge and hands on use of Primavera P6 along with defining and using Earned Value systems and other pertinent systems is a must. Our ideal candidate is skilled in oral and written communications and has excellent mentoring abilities, self management and personnel administration capability as well as a desire to grow both personally as well as professionally with each project controls career opportunity.

Our Business/Project Controls Manager needs to be able to have past experience in the following areas:

• Project execution definition of requirements, roles and responsibilities, methods, standards, are oversight
• Implementing Business group standard processes, systems and tools in support of the project execution for cost and schedule
• Integration of Engineering + Procurement + Construction work flow and data for Project Controls reporting and forecasting
• Determine document and project control staffing requirements and assign personnel to the projects as required
• Develop and implement cost, earned value, estimating and scheduling standards and procedures
• Oversight and drive estimating efforts of both detailed and conceptual nature
• Provide functional oversight for proposal preparation, estimate input and review, project audits and coordination with other Regional Project Controls groups
• Ability to set strategic and tactical direction with regard to policy/procedures, work force staffing, budgeting, and establishing and maintaining the technical standards
• Demonstrate hands on capabilities and a high degree of self sufficiency in the development and production of deliverables
  • Provide prime contract management and guidance on matters affecting deliverability, compliance and overall financial performance from initial pursuit to project closeout. Structures, manages, reviews and negotiates viable business deals, change orders, and contract extensions to retain clients, capture opportunities and/or manage contract issues and disputes.

    Monitor schedule and liquidated damages for prime and subcontracts.

    Supports ongoing risk assessment and mitigation, including modification and management input into the project risk register and/or ROMT.

    • Coordinates all accounting and financial management functions including general ledger, annual operating and capital budgets, monthly and annual financial reports, etc. through off-site Project Accounting. Reviews cost models and assumptions to ensure consistency with requirements of RFP and/or contract.
    • Manages production of cost estimates for new contracts/additional works.
    • Manages production of monthly payment applications from the project office.

    Additional Information: CH2M HILL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g., H-1B visa, etc) to fill this position.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelors Degree along with a minimum of 20 years progressively responsible project controls EPC experience.
  • 12 years minimum experience in project controls EPC for oil and gas, heavy industrial, or petrochemical projects
  • Experienced in large million man-hour Engineering execution
  • Experienced with 'high value' Engineering center project set up and execution
  • Current hands on Primavera P6 experience
  • Experience in the competency areas of project planning and controls, financial management, change management, client service management, risk management, contract/subcontract management, and program management required.
  • Proficiency with implementation and usage of Project Controls computer systems, software applications and capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of Ecosys Cost System
