TNC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The U.S. Government Relations Director of Operations provides overall leadership for administrative activities of the U.S. Government Relations team, as well as manages direct support for the Director and for senior program staff, and their initiatives. S/he may be responsible for developing operational guidelines to ensure efficient management of the program and compliance with regulations. S/he may oversee the coordination of trainings/meetings and document activities, strategies and lessons learned as appropriate. S/he provides HR support through assistance with the recruiting and on-boarding process, as well as monitoring annual objective setting and review. S/he typically manages a team of administrative staff, including objective setting and performance review. S/he works with the External Affairs finance representative to develop and monitor the annual budget. S/he works to consistently improve communications between all members of the Government Relations program and those in the Field. This position includes frequent interaction with TNC senior managers, staff, trustees, Board of Directors and donors, as well as with Federal Agency and Congressional staff. Duties are highly confidential and require broad and comprehensive knowledge of TNC's policies. TNC BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
