The Role



Robotics Specialist - Maintenance



The successful candidate will have extensive experience in industrial automation. Big pluses would be a focus on PLC systems, communications architecture, and integration of robotics and databases. This person must be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and shop managers. The successful candidate will have knowledge in Automotive manufacturing systems, as well as exceptional interpersonal, organizational and management skills, demonstrating the ability to be an innovator and change agent.



Responsibilities
  • Design, create and commission automated and robotic cells throughout the different shops.
  • Develop robotic applications, processes and software.
  • Support and assist maintenance team in troubleshooting difficult breakdowns and chronic equipment failures.
  • Act as liaison to IT department for MES (Manufacturing Execution System) development and implementation. (product information tracking)
  • Oversee maintenance, electrical, robotics and PLC projects, verify proper documentation.
  • Analyze weak spots and bottlenecks, propose, develop and implement counter measures.

Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience with industrial equipment controls, interfaces, and communication protocols.
  • Proficientcy in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and configuration are big plusses.
  • Experience with various Allen-Bradley platforms is highly desirable.
  • HMI programming experience a big plus
  • Experience with robot programming, teaching and backup and restoration
  • Experience creating various reports and database tools for management
  • Good overall computer skills, including Microsoft Office and e-mail programs.
  • Reading and understanding drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
