TNC POSITION SUMMARY The e-Learning Designer/Developer position is focused primarily on the development of the online learning materials for the global community of TNC staff and constituents. The-Learning Designer/Developer will have knowledge of current techniques, tools and procedures used in the design, development, and evaluation of technology-enhanced and online courses and programs. He/she will collaborate with Instructional Designers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to select the appropriate media and methods for learning, and develop online learning materials using the latest technology methods The e-Learning Designer/Developer will have experience working with Learning Management Systems (Moodle, NetDimensions LMS) and Web Content Management Systems (SharePoint 2010). He/she will have experience with graphic design, GUI design, and developing interaction elements appropriate for online instruction. The e-Learning Designer/Developer will have experience and a portfolio demonstrating proficiency developing learning and/or communications solutions using common authoring tools (e.g., HTML, XML, CSS, Articulate Storyline, and Flash; experience with JavaScript preferred) and experience working with SCORM. He/she will be proficient in creating and editing graphics, audio, and video using common editing tools (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Audacity, iMovie). Knowledge of developing learning programs for mobile devices a plus. The e-Learning Designer/Developer will have the ability to work effectively in a virtual, collaborative environment. TNC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The e-Learning Designer/Developer is focused on the development and delivery of technology based learning programs for the global community of TNC staff and constituents through a variety of methods including traditional classroom training, synchronous web-based distance training, online help documentation, asynchronous web-based training, and other technical venues. Participates as a member of Technology & Information Systems (TIS) project teams serving as a consultant, collaborator, hands-on learning tool developer and trainer as required by the project to most effectively teach and help staff acquire the technical knowledge and skills needed. Collaborates with TNC staff at all levels, other TNC training functions and business units to develop, deliver, and integrate technology training in day-to-day business practices. Implements the logistics for setting up training environments and produces supporting learning materials and documentation as appropriate. The e-Learning Designer/Developer is managed by the Program Director, Technology Learning Center and has no direct reports. S/he may coordinate the activities of volunteers and staff in cross-organizational and cross-functional teams. TNC BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
