Summary of Role: SunPower is seeking a Target Costing Senior Manager located in Austin who will report to the Director of Supply Chain. This individual will join a new team that is developing a collection of world class cost modeling techniques to properly cost our purchased products, perform competitive analysis and identify cost reduction opportunities. These cost modeling techniques will focus on refining and standardizing cost models for our module and BOS components. He/She will then identify opportunities for improved supplier negotiations as well as design for cost and design for value opportunities. In addition, this individual will represent supply chain in operations cost transformation activities, identifying cost reduction roadmap opportunities as well as leading organizational cost take out efforts. Included in the responsibilities will be the creation of a cost reduction operating system which will enable the employees to clearly quantify their cost savings and translate this savings to the corporate bottom line. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned): -This role will create cost roadmaps which will make SunPower leaders in cost as well as product performance. With SunPower's leading product performance, reducing our product cost to a level similar to our competition will give SunPower a strategic competitive advantage. - The Target Costing Senior Manager will develop roadmaps that identify negotiation opportunities, design for cost, manufacturing and value opportunities. Critical to the success of this role will be the ability to work with key technical and commercial process partners identifying the opportunity for cost reduction and working with these partners to implement such opportunities. These cost models will quantify costs attributable to each region and their unique cost drivers. - Finally, important in development of these cost modeling techniques will be training process partners of these techniques and creating organizational proficiency while maintaining internal expertise. Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor degree or 4 years of experience. - Masters degree or 6 years of experience or the knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job. - In-depth knowledge of target costing best practices. - Target cost experience at a company identified as a leader in the field of cost management. Preferred Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Supply Chain, and 5 years of related experience or Master's degree with 6 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. - In-depth knowledge of target costing best practices. - Target cost experience at a company identified as a leader in the field of cost management. - Experience leading cost take out initiatives with cross functional teams. - Experience in supplier management and materials management a plus - Effective project management experience and interpersonal communication skills. |
