Summary of Role: The InterCompany (IC) Reporting Accountant will be responsible for the IC function for all transactions and locations in EMEA & APAC regions. The IC Reporting Accountant will report to the Manager of Accounting & Financial Services (AFS).
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
• To run on a daily/weekly or other defined frequency by AFS Manager the Oracle and Discoverer IC reports to check the IC movements and balances among legal entities (LEs) , both those set up in Oracle and those out of Oracle (SunRay/Tenesol/Other)
• To work with corresponding GL and AGIS (Advance Global Intercompany System) worldwide accountants to reconcile and fixed any IC imbalance during the month for the EMEA & APAC regions
• To coordinate with IC Corporate for the fixing and timing of differences and any IC imbalances, acting as single point of contact as to agree on resolution before scheduled IC closing dates in the Gglobal calendar
• To support and provide training on IC procedures and systems (AGIS/others) to EMEA/APAC accounting teams
• To perform monthly IC balances aging analysis and to produce recommendations across LEs to Country Controllers and AFS Manager for settlement of IC balances
• To proactively detect any error in IC accounting and journal entries and to seek correction and remediation in coordination with GL/AGIS accountants or IT GHD is Oracle error.
• To monitor the correct cash settlements among LEs to ensure adequate IC standards and appropriate GL accounts are used, coordinating with AR and AP accountants, and Treasury
• To track IC monthly settlements and to keep records of any of such transactions including all supporting documentation as compliant with Company and SOX regulations
• To coordinate IC loans accounting with Treasury and Controllers and make sure they create the entries on their respective books
• To provide leadership on any IC related projects, including settlement of old balances, IC invoice format and fiscal requirements, and IC commercial invoices applying correct transfer pricing
• To support Corporate IC function by addressing any questions/requests on IC balances and to perform IC reconciliations when needed
• To distribute Intercompany invoices to respective Controllers and produce manual IC invoices as requested by AFS Manager and Controllers
• To assist AFS Manager in the maintenance and reconciliation of local/statutory ledgers, as needed ot assigned
• Act as back up for other members in the AFS organization
• To support the AFS Manager during month end close activity related to IC, including communication on deadlines and monthly IC deliverables to EMEA/APAC accounting team, reminders on key IC milestones, and active role in ensuring IC target deadlines are achieved
Minimum Requirements: • 2+ years general accounting experience
• Knowledge of Oracle ERP system
• Proficient in data entry and MS Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, formulae)
• College degree in accounting or business
• Able to work under pressure and being proactive, working independently with little supervision
• Excellent communications and presentation skills
• Fluent in English
Preferred Requirements: • Highly desired working knowledge of other European languages, specially French, Italian and German.
