SUMMARY OF ROLE SunPower is seeking a Director, Talent Development to lead our global Talent Development Function. The Director, Talent Development reports to the Vice President, Employee Engagement and will be responsible for providing the insight, resources and structure for employees to grow professionally and to increase their business effectiveness. Leading a small but mighty team, this position will have frequent executive interface, including with the CEO, and will be key in both engaging our employees and providing them with the tools they and SunPower need to succeed. This role will be critical in achieving our growth targets by providing our sales team with in-depth product and sales knowledge, our engagement targets by providing our employees with clear opportunities for development, and our business targets by providing our leaders with the tools to ensure their groups? success. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned): ? Manage assessment of SunPower?s talent needs, and provide tools to help us meet them. ? Create a multi-year Talent Development strategy that ensures SunPower has the right skills to achieve business success, and that employees have a clear vision for how they can grow professionally ? Manage SunPower?s employee development programs globally, including programs for executives and leaders, managers, high potential employees, employee effectiveness initiatives, and sales training ? Lead curriculum development, approach and methodology using multiple training modalities (instructor-led, online, social, on-the-job, and blended) ? Drive our successful global training programs, typically by managing outsourced delivery of training, or by providing hands-on leadership of the most strategically critical offerings ? Lead our non-instructor led initiatives, such as global mentoring programs or peer learning approaches. ? Oversee Talent Development operations, including effective use of our LMS, monitoring and acting on appropriate metrics, and vendor selection and management ? Collaborate with executive leadership, HR staff, and managers to create specific programs to meet employee needs, typically using blended approaches ? Manage the global on-boarding and enculturation processes ? Create other programs to drive engagement and employee growth RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum requirements - - Bachelors degree plus 10 years? progressively responsible work experience in a related position or field - Must have worked in the theory and practice of adult education for at least 6 of the last 10 years, with demonstrable knowledge of current trends in instructional design, delivery, and evaluation methods - Demonstrated experience in learning tools, including o Learning Management Systems o Elearning development applications o Document management systems o Web-based training delivery programs - 10+ years? experience using metrics and analysis to assess and improve programs and to articulate value of programs to executives Preferred requirements - Masters or PhD in Education is strongly preferred - Able to collaborate at all levels of the company, including at the executive level; an excellent listener and partner - Extremely organized; strong attention to detail - Creative problem solver - Ability to work cross-culturally, collaboratively and to find creative solutions to dispersed workforce needs - French is helpful but not required OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION - Position to be located in either San Jose California or Austin Texas - Occasional travel required, domestic and international - Candidate must be legally entitled to work and reside in the United States - Limited relocation assistance will be provided to the selected candidate Equal Opportunity Employer SunPower Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
