Summary of Role: SunPower is seeking a Commercial Rooftop Electrical Engineering Leader to manage the Electrical Engineering activity for the EMEA/APAC Commercial Rooftop Design & Engineering team located in Lyon (France).The Commercial Rooftop Electrical Engineering Leader reports to the Commercial Rooftop Design & Engineering Team Leader. The primary role for this position is to lead the Commercial Rooftop Electrical Engineering Teams throughout Europe, Middle East & Africa and Asia Pacific Regions as requested. The main target will be to organize and appropriately level the workload received versus the existing and available external resources in order to achieve the highest efficiency of the Team he/she leads. She/he shall support her/his Manager to maintain a relentless pursue of improvements of the quality, quantity, accuracy, on-budget and on-time Commercial Rooftop Design & Engineering Team deliverables and overall performance. The Commercial Rooftop Electrical Engineering Leader will organize his/her Team members to distribute the workload within the Team, including (not limited to) site evaluation, system design, and sub-consultant management services. The Commercial Rooftop Design & Engineering Team shall design rooftop solar arrays, generating full sets of construction documents to support our in-house construction project management team. He/she shall actively collaborate with his/her Team's Manager and the Department's Director, to ensure that the proper flow of resources and support is established among the Design & Engineering Department's Teams, in order to warranty the success and maximum efficiency of the remaining Teams that conforms the Department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned): • Main duties include: o Electrical design. o Preparation of detailed design documentation. o Component and system integration analysis. o Selection and coordination of engineering consultants and contractors. o Communication with internal and external clients. • Coordinate and manage the flow of technical information in and out of the Electrical Engineering team. • Responsible electrical portion of the Design & Engineering Team deliverables, including the drawing set, technical specifications, and calculations. The Electrical Engineer works with the Project Designer, Scada & Security Engineer, and Civil/Structural Engineer, to ensure technical content is complete and to the highest standard. • Review and coordinate all required electrical information needed for the Design & Engineering Team to begin the design process for a Proposal or Project. • Responsible to provide the required electrical input to the Design Team for a successful Proposal/Project design, by gathering all critical information from the Sales and Project Development teams prior to design commencement. • Upon request from the Sales and Project Manager, reviews contracts and customer specifications to determine critical design related content, and shares this information to the Design Team. • Site visits, including occasional domestic and international travel. • Support his Manager to update, create and improve the team metrics report every month (or as requested) through clear reports submitted to the Department Director on a timely manner, been the primary responsible of the accuracy of the information contained in the mentioned report. • Responsible of the electrical content of the drawings and documents that will be submitted. • Performs quality control/quality assurance. • Comply with the Design & Engineering Department processes, working methods and quality standards. • Develop and maintain Department Standard documentation based on released products. • Create best practices and develop standard processes and procedures that will create consistency throughout the Company. • Establish measures to reduce the electrical engineering workload cycle. • Recommend proper staffing levels based on current and anticipated future workload. This includes hire/fire and salary recommendations for existing employees. • Prepare, organize and present project information to internal and external customers as needed. • Organizes, maintain and monitor work schedules to track scheduled deliverables, working with the Electrical Engineering Analyst to prioritize the workload appropriately. • Responsible for working with the Electrical Engineering Analyst to balance the resources among the different Department's Teams, or hiring Electrical Engineering consultants necessary to complete work product to meet required deadlines. • The workload management includes all remote design activities carried out by SSO in Manila and/or by all other subcontractors. Minimum Requirements: • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. • 3-8 years Experiment in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Design. • 2-3 years Experiment as Team Lead, organizing people. Preferred Requirements: • Highly organized and capable of working on multiple projects. • Knowledge of electrical design, materials and methods of installation, especially in power generation. • Strong design and other discipline engineering skills. • Proficiency with Electrical software (DigSilent, ETAP, ...). • Proficiency with AutoCAD and generating detailed construction drawings. • Good communication skills. • Fluency in English, highly desired working knowledge of French language. |
