Summary of Role: Lead and manage SSO Global Design Team and ensure delivery of a large portfolio of projects from proposal to operation either through the in-house Design Team or through external partners. Key responsibilities and accountabilities: 1. Effectively manage specific Design Process requirements, its development and improvements necessary to ensure cost efficiency, accuracy and customer satisfaction 2. Develop mid-level managers and leads by aligning goals to meet over-all business objectives 3. Drive department performance via use of tools such as coaching and feedback, results documentation, counseling and mentoring, rewards and recognition and delegation of tasks for competency and critical skills development 4. Support department requirements to meet Service Level Agreements 5. Support escalation calls or requirements for lead assistance towards resolving end user issues. 6. Manage department meetings and participate in operations leadership meetings 7. Lead periodic design steering committee meeting 8. Communicate to all section managers and group leads any new requirements, changes, updates on all support related information as well as company information 9. Resolve high level conflicts and issues relative to business, customer / stakeholder relations and people management 10. Work with global stakeholders to provide high-quality, on-time delivery of design services 9.11. Work with global design partners within the organization to align and adopt global design best practices Minimum Requirements: BS in Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. An advance degree is preferred. Minimum 5 years in design using AutoCAD Preferred Requirements: Strong Architectural AEC design aptitude. Minimum 5 years construction trade experience preferred. Must be an effective communicator (verbally and in writing) and possess the ability to facilitate/lead the accomplishment of objectives. Must be customer-focused, with the ability to establish mutually beneficial objectives, clarify roles and accountabilities with business partners. The ability to utilize innovation and influencing skills to overcome obstacles to accomplish the job on time, and to constructively challenge the current state of affairs by surfacing ideas for new approaches and improvement is required. Ability to understand individual contributors key processes and deliverables to drive personal growth and improved execution over time Must possess the ability to articulate business situations clearly and accurately, address and resolve issues and conflicts by communicating difficult information tactfully and diplomatically. Ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines and deliverables are required. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, as well as organizational and prioritization skills are required. Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be detail oriented while still being able to provide strategic thinking and perspectives. Tools of trade: (equipment, machines, needed to make the job efficient) 1. Office Computer: Laptop 2.
