Summary of Role: We are looking for a Software Quality Assurance Manager to lead the testing effort of several key projects we are delivering that will be critical in the evolution of SunPower's remote monitoring platform over the next several years. You will be a part of the team that builds the platform and scale it to be one of the largest in the solar industry

In this position you will play a critical role in helping us identify tools to adopt or create and build up the right test harness and architect a solution that will let us run that harness across test environments, across locales, and across service boundaries with ease as we continue to scale out to more countries globally, more application types, and more devices. You will be engaged throughout all phases of the product cycle, and will have plenty of opportunities to contribute to groundbreaking experiences for our customers/partners while growing your skills and career. To accomplish this you will have to provide quality leadership to the team as well as coordinate with multiple partner teams across the division and across the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Identifying and defining the test strategy for several key projects that help power SunPower's remote monitoring product.
  • Defining or improving test processes and test methodologies
  • Creating, reviewing and executing on high quality test plans
  • Designing new and leveraging existing test automation infrastructure
  • Collaborating with Software/Firmware Development teams, Product Management and other teams to define what the end user sees and drive testability into our product
  • Build and lead a team of test engineers, managing their deliverables and helping them grow in their careers
  • Work with the latest state of the art hardware and software/firmware design(s) as well as with great people
Minimum Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience with QA/testing Software/Firmware and/or consumer device software "stack."
  • BS or MS degree in CS or the equivalent is required.
  • At least 5 years leadership experience managing, growing, and mentoring a team of top performing Software Test engineers
  • Great test skills and the ability to effectively drive a feature team with your Product Manager and Development peers
  • Great organizational skills and an eye for details
  • Good understanding of software quality assurance processes is required.
  • Track record of simultaneously shipping multiple FW/SW releases while maintaining high quality and delivering on schedule.
  • Knowledge of performance testing, coding and debugging skills
  • Candidates must possess solid oral and written communications skills
  • Must have strong demonstrable C/C++ and/or C# coding and debugging skills.
  • Experience with enhancing existing automation systems and utilization of testing best practices
  • A proven track record of shipping high quality software multiple times and a strong desire to join and influence a sustainable, high performance test culture.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and self-driven
  • A positive attitude and a passion for mobile technologies
  • Ability to travel both Domestically and Internationally
Preferred Requirements:
  • Hands-on experience with cloud service testing - personal or professional is a BIG plus.
  • Experience in a renewable energy environment is preferred.
