Summary of Role: We are seeking an experienced, self motivated person for Modules Product Engineering team. As part of the P.E team, he/she will be responsible for covering engineering issues related to Cells, Modules, Rooftop, and Tracker products. This position will work closely with Product Development teams in San Jose & Richmond.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Engineering support of full range of SunPower products (Cells, Modules, Rooftop Products, Trackers, and Performance Monitoring) mostly in the US.
• Investigate customer complaints, receive customer returns (Cells/ modules), conduct failure analysis (FA) and provide results and FA reports
• Analyze field issues and solve module/ system issues during commissioning process or during system operation
• Troubleshoot system or performance deficiencies and design solutions or system improvements as necessary
• Regular customer status reporting to Operation & Maintenance group as needed
• This position is stationed in San Jose, California

Minimum Requirements: RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements
• BS/MS degree in photovoltaic, electrical engineering, energy technologies, power control or related field
• Ability and proven experience to think creatively learn and develop innovative solutions to electro/mechanical challenges involved with photovoltaic installations. Familiarity with Inverter technology is a plus
• Proven field experience & problem solving skills and trouble shooting
• 4+ years of engineering experience. Experience in PV industry is desirable

OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION

• Up to 50% domestic and some international travel to company and customer sites
• Limited relocation assistance will be provided for the right candidate
Preferred Requirements: Preferred requirements
• MS Degree photovoltaic, electrical engineering, energy technologies, power control or related field
• Self motivated, with ability to work both independently and with multiple teams
• Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
• Strong customer focused attitude
