Summary The Proposal Analyst provides site evaluation, system design, and sub-consultant management services for SunPower's commercial projects as a part of the Customer Operations Group. The Proposal Analyst designs rooftop and ground mounted solar arrays, generating full sets of construction documents to support our in-house construction project management team. Candidates must demonstrate strong design, communication, and creative problem solving skills, and have excellent AutoCAD skills. The position reports to the Director of Business Development, Japan. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. ?Preparation of detailed mechanical, electrical, civil and/or structural designs for rooftop systems and free standing ground-mounted solar arrays. ?Site layout, planning, design, commercial offer, and commercial lead management. ?Coordination with Sales Leads, Project Managers, and other project participants. ?Managing engineering consultants for calculations, drawing packages, professional stamps. ?Designing components to address site-specific requirements. ?Creating and maintaining AutoCAD drawing packages. ?Creating Bills of Materials for projects. ?Assisting Salespeople and construction Project Managers with design related questions, responding to RFIs from the field. ?Site visits, including occasional domestic and international travel. ?Work closely with Customer Operations group for maintaining and promoting proposal skills to achieve regional goals. ?Interface with Application, Product Management/Engineering groups for keeping product and service knowledge, and reflect field voices to their roadmaps. ?Assist Business Development Director in driving and closing all revenue opportunities and high-value partnerships. Education and Experience ?A Bachelors degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering OR Architecture. ?3-5 years Experience in Engineering or Design, post-degree. ?Minimum of 3 years of customer service function in a similar company or sales and marketing leadership experience in a similar industry. ?PV/energy industry experience a plus but not required. Qualifications and profile ?Candidates must be highly organized and capable of working on multiple projects. ?Knowledge of electrical design, materials and methods of installation, especially in power generation, is a plus. ?Strong design and engineering skills. ?Proficiency with AutoCAD and generating detailed construction drawings. ?Proactive attitude and strong customer orientation. ?Hands-on ability and can-do attitude. ?Superior communication skills ? both written and oral and good listening skills. ?Fluent in Japanese. Proficient in written and spoken English. ?Fluency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Location ?The position is based in Tokyo, Japan. ?Up to 40% domestic / international travel. ?Candidates must be legally entitled to work and reside in Japan.
