Selected candidates will provide expertise for multiple projects.
Role Overview
- Assist the C&I Engineering group Supervisor with the instrumentation and control design effort for BNI projects.
- Has knowledge of the contract deliverable scope and ability to identify changes and estimate the cost & schedule impacts of changes in work scope to Project Management.
- Develop Logic Diagrams; Function Block Diagrams (SAMA's), Sequence diagrams, Process P&ID's; Set Point lists, wiring diagrams.
- Ensure assigned design engineering scope is performed in a manner which is compliant with procedures, applicable codes and regulations, timely, cost-effective and to a professional standard.
- Ensure detail design is in compliance with flowsheet and safety requirements.
- Ensure coordination with other engineering disciplines.
- Produce software lifecycle documentation including design documents, test plans and test reports.
- Identify major technical uncertainties and present solution options for management decision.
- Provide coaching and direction to less experienced engineers to enhance their skills and help them support the design effort.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement and team building, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Coordinate assigned work with other technical personnel as directed.
- Specify control system hardware and instrumentation.
- Assist construction in the installation and start-up of control systems.
Basic Qualifications
- B.S. degree from an accredited university or collegein either Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer or Electro-Mech engineering or engineering technology with6 years of progressive technical experience including controls and instrumentation design experience.
- Or In lieu of degree12 years of progressive technical experience including controls and instrumentation design experience.
Salary and grade commensurate with experience and education.

Minimum Qualifications
- Have good oral and written communication skills as well as work well with others in a team environment.
- Must have or be able of obtaining a U.S. Professional Engineering license no later than December 2014.
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen, and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional registration in relevant engineering discipline.
- Prior experience working in a Nuclear Quality and Safety Environment.
- Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience
- Experience with ABB 800xA system version 5.1, Process Control (PC) Device Library, Control Builder, Function Designer, and Graphics Builder.
- Experience with industrial networks including Profibus DP, Foundation Fieldbus (H1/HSE), and Modbus.
- Possess the legal right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
