Selected candidates will provide expertise for multiple projects. Role Overview Support/lead detailed design and specification of mechanical systems and equipment forBNI in areas of a process plant for treated mixed nuclear / chemical waste and/or supporting utility systems. - Coordinate with the engineering group in development of system and equipment requirements.
- Develop and revise Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and mechanical system formal calculations.
- Execute to schedule requirements while maintaining high degree of quality in work product.
- Provide supporting analyses and calculations for detailed design piping, equipment selection, and associated safety/hazards evaluations.
- Support development of project cost and schedule estimates.
- Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.
Basic Qualifications - BS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college with 6 years of progressive related experience.
- Related experience includes but is not limited to experience in Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&IDs) development and mechanical calculations related to hydraulics, equipment sizing, and overall system design for waste processing, nuclear, refinery, power, or chemical process facilities.
Salary and grade commensurate with experience and education. Additional Information Minimum Qualifications - Nuclear experienced in working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.
- Knowledge of corporate, industry, and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen, and background check.
- Have or be capable of obtaining a U.S. Professional Engineering license no later than 31 December 2014.
Preferred Qualifications - Professional Certification in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- Possess the legal right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
