Selected candidates will provide expertise for multiple projects.
Role Overview
Provide the electrical systems design for BNI projects.
- Carry out the allocated design tasks in a manner which is timely, cost-effective and to a professional standard.
- Contribute directly to the economic design of electrical systems and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with project design criteria, code requirements addressed or recommended in NEC, NFPA, IEEE and safety requirements by detail design.
- Provide the design of raceways, lighting system, grounding system, lightning protection, heat tracing and communication system, and equipment arrangement.
- Familiar with electrical power equipment design selection and installation and will be required to develop lighting panel schedules.
- Must be able to produce good quality electrical wiring diagram layouts independently with little or no guidance.
- Report to the engineering group supervisors and/or leads, and receive direction from them to assure the adequate electrical design requirements & approach are delivered.
Basic Qualifications
- AA/AS degree with 8 years of progressive related Electrical design experience; or in lieu of degree 12 years progressive related design experience.
Salary and grade commensurate with experience and education.
Additional Information
Minimum Qualifications
- Extensive electrical wiring diagram circuit structure/layout experiences and training.
- Knowledge regarding the NEC, have knowledge of SETROUTE.
- Thorough familiarity with Micro Station 2D and 3D application as well as AUTOCAD14 computer programs
- Must be familiar with the desktop computer system and the design related computer programs such as Microsoft Windows, DOS, Word, Excel, etc.
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen, and background check.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualification:
- AA degree in Electrical Engineering technology, science or mathematics.
- A proactive approach to self learning and study.
- 2 years lead designer or supervisory experience
- Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience
- Possess the legal right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
Assignment Duration: Greater than 18 months.
