- Environmental cleanup, decommissioning, and restoration at former nuclear weapon production sites
Selected candidates will provide expertise for multiple projects.
Role Overview
- Support detailed design and specification of mechanical systems and equipment for BNI in areas of a process plant for treated mixed nuclear / chemical waste and/or supporting utility systems.
- Coordinate with the engineering group in development of system and equipment requirements.
- Develop and revise piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and/or mechanical system formal calculations.
- Execute to schedule requirements while maintaining high degree of quality in work product.
- Provide supporting analyses and calculations for detailed design piping, equipment selection, and associated safety/hazards evaluations.
- Work with Sr. mechanical engineers and other technical disciplines in a team environment.
Basic Qualifications
- BS degree in an applicable Engineering disciplinewith1 year related experience.
Salary and grade commensurate with experience and education.
Additional Information
Minimum Qualifications
- Working knowledge of corporate, industry, and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen, and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- EIT or Professional Engineering License.
- Familiarity with Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&IDs) development and mechanical calculations related to hydraulics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, equipment sizing, and overall system design.
- Possess the legal right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
