SENIOR CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER I
Leads construction engineers in a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline for a particular area of the project. Provides engineering assistance to superintendents, directs assigned personnel in meeting cost and time schedules, verifies materials, equipment, and quality and assures results meet design requirements.

On a large project, independently performs assigned activities in one discipline, interfacing with other disciplines in all areas of the jobsite. On a small to medium-sized project, functions as a lead discipline engineer, coordinating related discipline activities and interfacing with other areas/disciplines on the jobsite.

Position Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Duties include review of technical proposals, inspection / verification of installed work, and communication with design engineering as required, to resolve issues.
  • Assists construction Turnover Coordinator by performing final P&ID checks.
  • Assist the DCS and I&C system leads in the preparation of system turnover packages in accordance with project procedures by assembling and reviewing all system I&C and DCS test documentation for adequacy and completeness;
  • Performs inspections and documentation of all instrument work in progress on a continuing basis to ensure quality and conformance to project specifications, codes, and contract (customer) requirements are met. (Instruments, Impulse Lines, Sample Lines etc)
  • Assist Project Field Engineer in identifying lessons learned, and work process improvements (PIPs).
  • Proactive in pursuing new technologies, construction methods and materials resulting in better project execution.
  • Participate in system turnover walk downs as required, both Construction and Client turnovers; initiate, track and resolve punch-list items for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Reviews Design documents, 3D Models, and vendor fabrication drawings for completeness, adequacy, and constructability items.
  • Communicates with design engineering and vendors to resolve issues including preparation of field change documents.
  • Communicates with procurement to prioritize, expedite and control material deliveries to the site
  • Prepares field material requisitions for permanent and temporary materials. Duties include performance of technical reviews for appropriate field vendor/fabricator drawings submittals
  • Assists field procurement in inspection and receipt of materials, and address all quality concerns with suppliers.
  • Coordinates construction plan and sequence with project planners, supervision and other disciplines.
  • Coordination of assigned sub-contractors.
  • Executes field take offs from Issued For Construction drawings, provides input to the quantity tracking applications and reports weekly installed quantities to Project controls.
  • Assist in development and execution of instrumentation bulks work packaging program (Instruments, Impulse Lines, Sample Lines etc)
  • Verifies materials, equipment, and workmanship, to ensure all installation meets all contract, design and code requirements.
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety, provides leadership and takes personal accountability for site safety, environmental and health program.

Basic Requirements: (Must meet all aspects of Basic Qualifications in order to be considered for this role)
  • 8or moreyears Electrical experience
  • Previous Nuclear experience.
  • Knowledge of nuclear industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria pertinent field instrumentation and controls systems installations.
  • Must be computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet database applications and familiar with current industry quality standards.
  • Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.
  • Work includes field inspections, climbing ladders, scaffold, work on elevated platforms, permanent ladders, work on uneven surfaces and work in confined spaces
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Right to work and remain in the United States.
