Selected candidates will provide expertise for multiple projects.
Role Overview
Primary responsibility will be to support electrical system design.
- Performs electrical engineering activities for plant modifications, which include as a minimum the development/revision of basic discipline drawings, such as schematics, wiring diagrams, SETROUTE, BlockDraw, transformer sizing, and specifications for equipment where deviations from standard documentation is required.
- Works under the direction of more senior engineers/designers and may have junior level engineers/drafter subordinates.
- Conducts checking as required.
- Properly interprets and applies codes & standards and customer design requirements, for the preparation of electrical design documents, specifications, and system descriptions related to design tasks.
- Assembles and issues material requisition packages. Performs bid evaluations and administers the technical portion of the contract to achieve electrical equipment delivery.
- Must be a self-starter and capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Bechtel and industry proven concepts, and procedures.
- Must work well with others, other disciplines, and groups.
- Successful candidate will be assigned various plant systems, which will include electrical systems as well as mechanical and instrumentation and control systems.
Basic Qualifications
- BS degree from an accredited college or university in an electrical engineering related field with1 year of related experience; or MS degree from an accredited institution in electrical engineering.
Salary and grade commensurate with experience and education.
Additional Information
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain EIT within 12 months of employment
- Familiar with or course work using industry wide electrical system calculation/design tools, such as ETAP, CAD 2D and cable designing and routing software
- Knowledge on electrical systems, schematics and electrical equipment layouts
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen, and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards
- An understanding of the SETROUTE program, and the ability to input and complete corrections in the data base.
- FE/EIT Certification or PE Registration
- Previous nuclear and/or DOD or DOE nuclear project experience
- Possess the legal right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
