The Gladstone LNG (GLNG) Project is a grass roots 2 Train Liquefied Natural Gas Facility that will be constructed on Curtis Island, (near Gladstone) Australia on a camp status, fly in/fly out basis for non-local personnel. It will be performed using a combination of Direct Hire and Construction Management of experienced specialist Australian Subcontractors methods. Unless otherwise indicated, applicants for construction positions should have heavy industrial Direct Hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken and the requirements identified below.

Bechtel is seeking a Craft Supervisor - Mechanicalto join our LNG Projects in Gladstone. Reporting to the Area Superintendent this role will work closely with other multi disciplined supervisors. Initially the role will be responsible for day to day supervision activities on the Water Treatment Plant, Sewerage Treatment Plant, Electrical Power Generation (i.e. Diesel Generators), Fire Fighting Systems and Fuel Distribution Network. Later on the position will be responsible for the installation of GENP compressors, Siemens GTGs, various gas plant pumps and Atlas Copco BOG compressors as well being

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for supervising and directing operations within assigned discipline or area.
  • Supervises and directs craft activities and others, as assigned.
  • Day to day supervision activities on the Water Treatment Plant, Sewerage Treatment Plant, Electrical Power Generation (i.e. Diesel Generators), Fire Fighting Systems and Fuel Distribution Network.
  • Will work closely with contractors who will provide mechanical supervisor experience for the installation of NP/GE compressors, Siemens GTGs, Various gas plant pumps and Atlas Copco BOG compressors
  • Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.
  • Prepares FMRs and orders precision tools to support the installation of compressors, pumps, expanders, and blowers for a LNG construction project.
  • Controls job-site expenditures, in assigned area, for labor, equipment, material and services and ensures field operations are within the budget Monitor construction equipment utilization and maintenance.
  • Approve Field Materials Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensure that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.
  • Implements safety programs and ensures strict adherence to federal and state safety codes.
  • Plans and implements procedures to ensure construction operations are continuously adhering to engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, schedules and budget.
  • Responsible for coordination of construction operations to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules. Maintains relationships with the client and their representatives, as assigned

Basic Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or equivalent work experience) and Construction Management
  • Demonstrated and increasingly responsible experience in field engineering and field supervision
  • Technical knowledge in the application of environmental, procurement, construction and testing practices to implement specified the program's environmental, procurement, construction, and testing certification requirements.
  • Strong "Zero Accident" ES&H experience; a demonstrated ability to implement and hold field contract supervision and contractors accountable for the successful implementation of the project.
  • Construction supervision and management experience

Note
Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
