Job Description:   
 
Claims
  • Responsible for all aspects of Southern Pacific Workers Compensation and General Liability Claims to ensure efficient claim handling from inception to resolution.   
  • Manage the Gallagher Bassett relationship for your branch and adjudication
  • Monitor claims and establish triggers for large losses or catastrophic injuries to alert Claims leadership
  • Review and monitor reserve alerts at threshold levels  
  • Maintain training documents for training and development of presentations to regional teams
  • Conduct claim training within the region as requested  (four times per year)
  • Updates in case law impacting decisions within the regions Workers Compensation and General Liability exposure
  • Work closely with the Global Legal Team and Southern Pacific Regional Leadership Team    
  • Maintain and update clinic lists for Region
  • Maintain all claim vendors assigned or used to help manage and respond to open claims .
  • Work in partnership with the region to assist in Subrogation
  • Attend claim reviews, follow up action plans for the region
  • Manage outside counsel relationships for Regional WC and GL claims
 
 
Reporting
  • Fiscal period closing reports and analysis with trends with recommendations
  • Regional analysis for presentations to Regional leadership and Global Claims Team
  • Knowledge in reporting and analysis with particular emphasis in trending
  • Create Power Point presentations regarding trends and analysis  
  • Have a good working knowledge of Risxfacs and all tools available
  • Have a good working knowledge of proprietary RMIS system
•           Maintain updated Regional attorney list for ACE and vendors
•          Other administrative duties as requested
 
Requirements
Workers compensation/general liability knowledge, California experience preferred but not required
College degree or equivalent experience in working with claims and regional experience of at least three years
Strong excel and PowerPoint knowledge
Report writing and analysis experience
This position reports to Senior Claims Coordinator and Southern Pacific Executive Coordinator of Team Member Services
Able to travel 10%
Must live in Austin  - no relocation package included
