CH2M HILL Lab Technician Jobs - Marietta, GA
The Challenge! CH2M HILL has an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a wastewater Laboratory Technician in the Marietta, Georgia area. The successful candidate will perform analysis of wastewater/water samples.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemistry, Biology or related field with 2-3 years experience working in a wastewater/water laboratory environment and use general laboratory equipment. Experience in the wastewater/water field is a basic qualification to apply to this position. We are at our Client Site in Marietta, GA and it is a secured environment, requiring you to pass a series of background checks. We are only looking at resumes that have experience in the wastewater/water field. We will also ask you a series of questions pertaining to the tests that are run to make sure you meet our qualifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under direct supervision, performs a variety of routine laboratory operations.
Duties usually consist of making measurements, performing several routine quantitative and qualitative biological or chemical analytical tests according to standard procedures.
Assists higher level technicians in setup of laboratory equipment and in recording data for experiments and procedures.
Requires knowledge in using various instruments to prepare for and perform tests.
Performs routine and safety program checks and preventive maintenance on instruments.

Job Specifications:

Experience using general laboratory equipment.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, provide a clean motor vehicle record and be able to pass a background check.
Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions .
Ability to effectively respond to questions from manager, client and co-worker.
Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures and to develop proficiency in the care and use of PPE(personal protection equipment).
Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to judge color end-point changes.
Must be able to hear timers ring.
Must be free of respiratory problems of a nature that could be aggravated by exposure to chemical fumes found in a laboratory environment.
Must be able to lift objects up to 45 pounds.

Basic Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent in chemistry, biology, physical science or related field experience
2-3 years in a water/wastewater laboratory

Preferred Qualifications

Degree Required

High School or GED
