CH2M HILL Design Technician Jobs - Houston, TX The challenge? Help develop and provide high quality, leading edge sustainable engineering solutions to our clients in the power, oil & gas, chemicals and petrochemical, and petroleum refining industries for water/wastewater treatment. Our DesignTechnician career path is your opportunity to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects. You will be part of a team supporting the design and delivery of Water and Energy related projects. You should be a self-motivated professional with at least two years of design experience for water treatment, wastewater treatment, oil and gas or chemical facilities, a solid understanding of 3D Intergraph software, and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally. Our Design Technicians: - Will support design and delivery activities in the design of municipal and industrial water treatment facilities with a focus on oil and gas and chemical facilities. - Execute development of project drawings using Intergraph 2D and 3D application software to produce legible and technically correct drawings in a cost efficient manner. - Coordinate and execute the development of Process Flow Diagrams and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for the facility. - Make revisions to existing drawings from verbal explanations and revise complex drawings from sketches. - Assist Engineers in producing design and construction documents. Additional Information: - Relocation assistance is not available for this position. - CH2M HILL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g., H-1B visa, etc) to fill this position. Basic Qualifications- Minimum 2 years CAD experience. - A two-year degree in Computer Drafting and Design or equivalent work experience. - Familiarity with process flow and piping and instrumentation diagrams. Preferred Qualifications- 4 years CAD experience. - Proficient in the use of Cadworx, and SmartPlant (SP3D) to produce engineering drawings. AutoCAD and MicroStation experience may be acceptable depending on overall experience and willingness to learn and adapt to aforementioned software. - Experience with both Intergraph and Bentley software preferred. - Experience in the water treatment, wastewater treatment, oil and gas or chemical industries. - Strong understanding of plans and designs. - Strong understanding of P&IDs for industrial clients. - Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Proficient in using Microsoft Suite including MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
