• Education: Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in Electrical Engineering from a four year accredited college or university. • Experience: 12 years of professional experience with 5 years of supervisory experience. • Experience in the Arctic region. • Experience with Oil and Gas Projects. • Alaska Professional Engineering License required.

• NCEES Certification preferred.

Project Services - Our Project Services group partners with Energy & Construction operating groups to execute projects by providing top-caliber, professional personnel trained to deliver projects with efficiency and certainty; anticipating and responding to project needs; deploying-with market-driven agility-well-integrated processes, systems and tools designed to enhance project efficiency; maintaining a market-competitive cost structure; and seamlessly integrating functions into cohesive project teams. Level Specific Responsibilities:
• The Electrical Supervising Discipline Engineering is responsible for managing the electrical engineering effort to meet client and project requirements regarding scope, scheduling and budgets. • Coordinates the electrical engineering with that of other disciplines. • Maintains records, files and other documents pertaining to the electrical discipline. • Complies with company's safety awareness program, office and/or field safety policies. • Assists the Project Engineering Manager in identifying the electrical engineering documents that must comply with regulatory/licensing requirements. • Assumes "in charge" responsibility for ensuring that engineering documents comply with applicable state laws/regulations, including affixing registered engineer seal when required. • Manages groups of engineers, designers and/or specialists with minimal guidance or supervision. • Works toward achieving compatibility of customer's and company's objectives. • Assigns preparers and checkers for electrical specifications and coordinates review of external specifications. • Establishes schedules and budgets to meet project requirements and obtains approval. • Maintains technical coordination with the Principal Engineer to ensure adherence to industry codes, regulatory requirements and sound engineering practices. • Coordinates electrical engineering activities with those of other disciplines on the project. • Directs the preparation and submits periodic reports and forecasts on the status of the electrical discipline. • Schedules, directs and documents engineering meetings between project management, client, vendors and other engineering groups. • Complies with state requirements for continuing education, maintains and obtains licenses as requested. • Continually upgrades technical knowledge and capabilities and pursues additional coursework and training. • Advises the Project Engineering Manager regarding status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and adverse problems. • Works closely with Chief Discipline Engineers, Principal Engineers and Project Engineering Managers on employees' evaluations and promotions and the overall technical improvement of the group. • Fully versed in the work sequence, general content, and methods used to generate specifications for the purchase of material, equipment, systems, services, or construction within the electrical discipline. • Has an advanced level of knowledge of electrical engineering and has a strong understanding of the other disciplines. • Has mastered the preparation and execution of electrical project scope. • Advanced level of knowledge in business development, has mastered the proposal process and can lead the preparation of electrical proposals. • Complete understanding of electrical design tools and of the company cornerstone applications. • Fully versed in the collection and/or evaluation of data and information regarding technical and economic factors including physical, environmental, maintenance, operational, regulatory, constructability, and/or schedule factors relating to electrical engineering projects. • Fully comprehends external factors that impact engineering problems. • Has mastered the process and use of requisitions and the role of materials management. • Has mastered leading the development of manpower, man-hour, and labor cost requirements for a project and can monitor the effect of these on the budget. • Has mastered and can lead all aspects of estimating electrical engineering content of petrochemical projects. • Has mastered knowledge of electrical material costs and of cost analysis and forecasting. • Has mastered the understanding of and leads the planning and scheduling of electrical engineering tasks. • Has mastered the understanding of the project change control process, can train others and can identify potential changes. • Responsible for performance management and mentoring. • Provides assistance to projects to address technical issues related to process improvement. • Develops, designs and conducts training programs within area of technical expertise. • Creates and maintains positive working relationships with peer leaders and productive relationships with organizations both within and external to Engineering.
