Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, chemical or related engineering field
• Minimum four years of relevant experience
• Master's degree in related engineering discipline can substitute for up to two years of work experience
• PhD degree in related engineering discipline can substitute for up to three years of experience
• Or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience
• Must be willing to travel to provide field resident engineering oversight on jobs that may potentially last several days or weeks
• Must have the ability to perform engineering calculations, designs and strong technical writing skills
• Effective time-management, written communications skills, analytical and interpersonal skills required
• Must be able to work effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists
• Proficient in MS Office
• Valid driver's license required
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test


Job Description:

This position will work with other team members within the GeoEnvironmental Business line, as well as other groups, in support of technical design document development, including but not limited to reports, construction bid packages, technical specifications, design drawings and calculations. This position may also be called upon to assist with marketing material development or other related tasks on an as needed basis. Research and coordination with others on project related or industry related activities may also be part of the job duties.

The team is responsible for a wide range of general designs centering around the permitting, design and construction of solid waste management facilities (MSW, C&DD, coal combustion byproducts, etc.).

Responsibilities:
• The position will be part of the Environmental Business Line working under the supervision of the appropriate project manager
• Work on Civil Engineering projects such as environmental permit preparation, design of geo-civil engineering systems, and construction oversight
• Engineering responsibilities include: calculations, drawing preparation, document generation, and other related services associated with the full scope of a civil engineering design project
• Interact with multi-discipline and multi-office teams within URS
