Minimum Requirements: • Must currently be enrolled as a Junior or Senior in a local ABET accredited university, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an interest in geotechnical and/or environmental engineering • Must have working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs • Must have excellent written and communication skills • Valid driver's license required • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test Job Description: The Infrastructure and Environment Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Environmental Engineering Intern for immediate employment in the Akron, Ohio offices. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The intern can look forward to projects including primarily environmental related design, inspection, and sampling activities.
Example Activities: • Perform design calculations for environmental/solid waste related design projects • Design in AutoCAD • Assist with construction inspection and sampling activities. • Assist project manager/project engineer in preparation of planning documents • Assist project manager/project engineer in development of construction documents to include Civil drawings and technical specifications • Complete regulatory permit applications The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed above.
