ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Partnership Coordinator supports the management and operations of the Migratory Bird Conservation Partnership, a collaboration of The Nature Conservancy, Audubon California and Point Blue Conservation Science. The Coordinator will provide administrative and communications support for the partnership, requiring a wide range of skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects independently. S/he will support partnership meetings by scheduling, preparing logistics, helping to draft and circulate agendas, coordinating and synthesizing committee updates, and taking and distributing meeting notes. The Coordinator will coordinate logistics for an annual retreat for ~50 staff. S/he will support a range of administrative projects from filing to data entry. S/he will have frequent interaction with staff from all three organizations, as well as external partners, donors and vendors. The Coordinator must have a positive attitude, patience and the ability to work well with others, through clear and frequent communications. It is essential that the Coordinator take the initiative to solve problems as they arise, seeking input and equitable solutions.

The Partnership Coordinator should have a passion for conservation and be highly motivated. S/he will report to the Project Director for the Migratory Bird Initiative at The Nature Conservancy and will be based in Sacramento. This position is through May 2014 with the possibility of renewal.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience, Associate's degree and 4 years related experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and calendaring with Outlook.
  • Experience using the internet for research. 
  • Experience managing multiple projects.
  • Experience communicating, verbally and in written form, with a diverse range of people.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years related experience, Associate's degree and 4 to 5 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, with assignments sometimes coming from a number of sources as well as to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize time and manage diverse activities.  Meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to changing situations and priorities.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION
  • This position has an end date of May 30, 2014.

AUTO SAFETY POLICY

This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with the Conservancy's Auto Safety Program.  Employees may not drive Conservancy-owned/leased vehicles, rental cars, or personal vehicles on behalf of the Conservancy if considered "high risk drivers."  Please see further details in the Auto Safety Program document available at www.nature.org/careers. 

Employment in this position will be contingent upon completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee's motor vehicle record.
