This Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Project is a green field 2 Train Liquefied Natural Gas Facility that will be constructed on Curtis Island.It will be performed using a combination of Direct Hire and Construction Management of experienced specialist Australian Subcontractors methods. Unless otherwise indicated, applicants for construction positions should be looking to gain experience in heavy industrial Direct Hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken and the requirements identified below. LNG is one of the fastest-growing segments of the energy market. Join Bechtel and help build the facilities for the energy of the future. Role Overview Performs cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directed. Incumbent will work in the Gladstone, QLD, Australia Office as part of the Project Controls Team reporting to the Field Project Controls Manager. The candidate will handle the subcontract Cost Reimbursable work. In addition, the candidate will assist in set-up and maintenance of cost control tools and support reporting requirements for a large EPC LNG Project. The candidate will be required to interface with other discipline / functional leads, interact with client / sub-contractor personnel for collation of data to support cost monitoring / reporting and invoicing, cash flow forecasting and management reporting. As the job progresses, the candidate may be required to assist in re-forecasts, trend management and establishment of change order requests. Rigorous implementation of work processes and procedures, early identification of deviations from budget, through scope change, trending and analysis rather than simple reporting will be critical to success in this position. Basic Qualifications The candidate will be a self-starter with a high level of energy and motivation and have proficiency in the use of cost control techniques, databases, spreadsheets, word processing and power point software, and have an aptitude to become familiar with in-house cost control / reporting tools. Candidate is expected to have some familiarity with Financial / Profitability analysis. As a member of the Project Controls team, the incumbent will require excellent oral and written communication skills, and be capable of communicating ideas and issues across multi-discipline teams. Working knowledge of the cost engineering work processes for engineering, procurement and construction work processes on Oil, Gas & Chemical projects is preferred as are skills related to identifying, analyzing and solving problems Bechtel is among the most respected engineering, procurement, and construction companies in the world.
