Job Description:  General Summary:
The Metro TMS Supervisor (Supervisor) acts as a strategic business partner to provide Whole Food Market (WFM) Stores and Facilities with Team Member Services (Human Resources) support.  This position will provide support for Store/Facility Team Member Services Leads (TMSL) and Store/Facility Leadership in Team Member Services (TMS) functional areas as a daily partner as well as during new store openings, relocations and remodels.  The Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring metro scheduling coverage, training and ongoing development of TMSLs and TMS Senior Specialists (Sr. Specialist), and will actively oversee the roll out and execution of Regional and Global TMS programs and initiatives.  This position oversees efficient and successful execution of regional recruiting strategy, safety and workers compensation administration, record keeping and compliance in a Metro (Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; Vancouver, BC) within the Pacific Northwest Region.  Professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and a warm, caring demeanor are necessary to successfully execute this position.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned as needed:
  • Train, mentor and develop TMSLs and Sr. Specialists to ensuring consistency of TMS functional execution and support.   Provide back-up in all TMS functional areas (including payroll) as needed in assigned Metro area. 
  • May assist with performance evaluations, accountability and recruiting for TMS Team Members.
  • Provides partnership to Store and Facility Leadership in assigned Metro area in all TMS functional areas, including recruiting, leadership development, TM relations, safety and risk, benefits and compensation.
  • Establish and maintain business partnerships with key stakeholders including but not limited to Store/Facility and Regional Leadership, Regional TMS (including Learning and Development, Safety and Risk, and Administrative Teams) and Store/Facility TMS.
  • Communicate and interpret policies and procedures with TMSLs, Sr. Specialists and Store/Facility Leadership in assigned Metro area.
  • Assist with facilitation of TMS trainings, Metro TMS meetings and Regional TMS meetings
  • Conducts TMSL assessments, education, and/or re-trainings as assigned
  • Coordinate scheduling coverage for TMS Operations in the assigned Metro to ensure clear and consistent coverage for weekends, vacations, leaves of absence, and transition periods.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Provincial, Federal and State Wage and Hour Laws as well as relevant regulatory rules specific to each State and Province within the Pacific Northwest Region.
  • Ensure compliance with Provincial, Federal and State Laws, standards and requirements, including but not limited to: SOX, OSHA, HIPAA, employment eligibility, and record keeping requirements.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Comply with all HR professional standards, policies and procedures as well as Whole Foods Market policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and oversee Metro job fairs for ongoing recruitment support and new-store openings; provide location specific recruiting support as assigned.
  • Oversee compilation of Metro TMS Metrics, ongoing audits and reports queries for each location as defined by the Regional TMS Team.
  • Approve Leave of Absence requests, separations, and requests for reasonable accommodation in assigned Metro.
  • Partner with Store/Facility Leadership, Regional TMS and TMSL to coordinate and administer internal investigations, including LPI investigations.
  • Regional Project lead responsibilities in assigned TMS functional area.

Qualifications

  • Computer Skills " Ability to navigate Inter and Intranets with ease; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge or proficiency in Adobe Suite functions, including Illustrator, preferred.  Experience with Kronos and Oracle HRIS preferred.
  • Education and/or Experience - Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university and PHR/SPHR/CHRP certification preferred; or 4-6 years related human resources generalist experience, including progression of responsibility and leadership; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills " Ability to read and interpret documents including the WFM General Information Guide (GIG), relevant policies, procedures, and law, and other written communication. Each position is signed to one of three potential Metro areas located within the Pacific Northwest Region of Whole Foods Market:  Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; Vancouver, BC.
