JOB FUNCTION: Collect and transport classified waste material within the Washington Metropolitan area. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Load, transport and unload material and drive trucks less than 26,000 pounds. Pull material from collection areas. Maintain security in all designated areas. Perform appropriate vehicle inspections and report deficiencies. Properly record weight and origin of classified waste. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Able to obtain and maintain forklift certification. Driving record must meet employer's insurance carrier standards. Able to perform and function within a confined space. Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions. A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings and nights, as well as, overtime, weekends, and holidays. EDUCATION: High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required. EXPERIENCE: Two years experience driving commercial vehicles. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. SECURITY: Must be a U.S. Citizen, possess and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance. No relocation provided.
