Job Description:  AECOM has an opening for an Accounts Payable Manager in Glen Allen Virginia.
Responsibilities:


  • Directs and overseas the various processes under the procure-to-pay umbrella including imaging, vendor management, payment of vendor invoices and reimbursement of employee expense reports while ensuring company policies and procedures are enforced.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills managing a team of exempt and non-exempt employees; effectively train, develop, and motivate team members.
  • Maintains strong internal controls and manages all regulatory activities related to accounts payable including 1099 management. Coordinates all audit processes for the accounts payable area.
  • Manages cross-functional relationships (i.e. operations, procurement, IT) responsible for strategies, process consolidations, process improvements, system developments/implementations, and value added initiatives.
  • Assumes an active role leading various special projects, including implementing a scanning, workflow and OCR solution, an ERP upgrade for the AP module, and integrating various acquisitions.
  • Defines and manages key metrics to ensure compliance with service level agreements.

Requirements:


  • Bachelors degree in Business field preferred
  • 8+ years of general business experience, 5+ years of payables experience, 5+ years in a management role
  • Experience managing an outsourced operation desired
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must have track level of interacting with senior management
  • Able to manage multiple requests, assess priorities and consistently achieve deadlines; must be able to exercise good judgment
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Motivated, detail-oriented and flexible
  • Experience with the Oracle accounting system is desired
