This Practice Leader will be based in the Raleigh, NC office, supporting the AECOM National Tolls Group , the National Highway and Bridge Group, as well as the Southeast Region and Southern States District Highway Bridge market sector, and Government Technical Services. Residency in the Raleigh area is not required. This is an executive, business development and program leadership position, to help AECOM develop the tolls and ITS offering specifically oriented towards the nationwide development of managed lanes.
Responsibilities:
- The ideal candidate will be recognized nationally as a knowledge expert in transportation project development.
- Provide strategic oversight and direction for the Southeast Region tolls and highway and bridge practice areas.
- Will drive regional business development activities from identification to selection.
- Will also manage pursuits of large projects and serve on select pursuits.
- Will remain current on latest developments, research and innovations with field of expertise.
- Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key officials of other organizations.
- Strengthen the transportation services offering by providing training and development of employees, fostering knowledge management and sharing.
- Effectively communicate with the public and with clients' technical staff, management and governing boards.
- Will work effectively with market segment leadership team to ensure resources throughout the market segment are being utilized on projects and pursuits.
- Will work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver intelligent solutions that ensure quality project delivery.
- Project management, technical guidance of junior staff, and direct client relations and task management.
- Lead advisory services efforts with clients and leading junior staff in these engagements.
- Significant travel for projects, marketing and industry advocacy.
Qualifications:
BS Engineering, MS Preferred Professional Engienering License 10 years' of public highway and infrastructure experience with at least 5 years or organizational leadership experience of which 3 years should be related to tolls and/or managed lanes. Candidate shall be able to demonstrate successful experience in solving a range of technical and organizational challenges, in building consensus, and in moving organizations to action and/or restructuring. Experience in operations management is preferred.
