CH2M HILL Survey Party Chief Jobs - Austin,Texas,

The Challenge? Keeping our communities on the move. Our Project Surveyor will perform field survey tasks utilizing various technologies and conventional surveying techniques as well as office survey tasks including preparation of legal descriptions, land survey plats and other CAD/GIS support and related office calculations. Types of projects can include geodetic control, photo control, right of way, boundary, topographic, hydrographic, utility mapping, construction, GIS data collection and GPS base station installation. You should be a self-motivated with three or more years experience in professional surveying, have your LSIT with the ability to secure license in the near future, have experience with up to date survey equipment and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each survey project.

Our Survey Party Chief:

Prepares and presents the results of field collected, research, and office computations, such as base maps cross sections and profiles.
Performs field layout and measurement of less complicated sites, and assists on more technically complex sites.
Is knowledgeable in boundary, right of way, construction, engineering, and topographic survey activities.
Is experienced with GPS technology, electronic total stations, digital leveling and conventional surveying techniques as well as related office calculations.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and desire to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Has the ability to perform calculations from field note data.
Is able to read, interpret, and use topographic maps and design drawings.
Demonstrates an understanding of basic survey or CAD computer applications.
Reads, understands, and explains plans and specifications of normal complexity.

Basic Qualifications

2 year degree in Surveying, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years experience as a survey technician preparing and presenting the results of field collected, research, and office computations, such as base maps cross sections and profiles.
Proven successful track record using standard tapes and electronic field equipment in a fashion consistent with accepted practice.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Carlson Civil/Survey application (preferred) or LDD.
