CH2M HILL Industrial Hygienist Jobs - Prudhoe Bay, AlaskaThe challenge? Helping ensure the supply of our world's oil and gas. Our Industrial Hygienist job will provide you with the opportunity to work and live on the North Slope of Alaska on a rotational basis. Each day, you will perform advanced professional work in the support of CH2M HILL's Industrial Hygiene Program, including monitoring field site industrial hygiene conditions, practices, and procedures. You should be a self motivated, detail oriented professional with 4 years of related industrial hygiene work experience, a Bachelors degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field, 2 years work experience in or around hydrocarbon facilities, and prior experience working on the North Slope. Our Industrial Hygienists: - Conducts hazard evaluations and exposure assessments
- Provides recommendations to prevent exposure to chemical and physical agents
- Develop, deliver and/or sponsor occupational health and hygiene training
- Maintain industrial hygiene recordkeeping systems in a complete, auditable format
- Provides written compliance reports to agencies; represents CH2M HILL during agency inspections; maintains working relationships with state and federal agencies

Any offer of employment will be contingent upon:
• Demonstrated ability to perform the physical requirements (listed above) of this position via the successful completion of a Fitness for Duty Evaluation;
• Negative results in a drug test
• Attainment of a North Slope Training Certification (NSTC) via completion of modules
CH2M HILL will schedule and cover program costs for Fitness for Duty Evaluations, drug tests, and NSTC training for job candidates. Candidates will not be compensated for their personal time spent completing these programs or for costs of previously attending the NSTC training, drug test or FFD evaluation.
Additional Information: The position is located on the North Slope and requires a rotational work schedule (2 weeks on and 2 weeks off). Must have flexibility in schedule. Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided, however transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. CH2M HILL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g., H-1B visa, etc) to fill this position.
Basic Qualifications - Four years of related industrial hygiene work experience
- Bachelors degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, Health & Safety or related field (an additional 5 years of advance experience can be substituted)
- Four years work experience with Office Suite programs (i.e. Word, Excel, & Outlook)
- Valid driver's license and the ability to be insured for driving company vehicles (applicants must provide a five year DMV record at the time of application)
- Knowledge of principles and practices of industrial safety
- Knowledge of OSHA and General Industry Safety Standards
- Knowledge of program management
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene testing equipment, supplies, and personal protective equipment
- Ability to apply the principles of industrial hygiene to include recognition, evaluation, and control of recognized hazards
- Ability to conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and hazardous work materials to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Ability to establish priorities for workload based upon such factors as need for immediate action, work objectives, work schedule, and knowledge of future needs
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others understand
