Job Description:

The Infrastructure and Environment Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Flood Study Program Administrator for immediate employment in the Germantown, MD office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in the National Flood Insurance Program, specific to Flood Insurance Rate Map production and adoption. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including working with flood study Project Managers for Flood Insurance Rate Map issuance in addition to coordination with communities and FEMA to implement regulatory requirements for the adoption of Flood Insurance Rate Maps by the communities.

Incumbent Responsibilities:
• Oversight and coordination of tasks required for flood insurance rate maps to be issued to communities, including preparing reports, mailings and correspondence
• Work with project managers, FEMA staff, and local community officials to ensure flood studies and mapping are issued and adopted in accordance with National Flood Insurance Program Regulations
• Coordinates, schedules and conducts producing preliminary correspondence, producing LFD documents, producing GPO paperwork, and coordinate start of 90-day appeal period via Federal Register and newspaper publications, Coordinates and conducts quality control review of FEMA flood mapping and flood study reports and products
• Carries out complex assignments requiring the development of new or improved procedures
• Works on complex and challenging projects with little senior assistance
• Delegates appropriate tasks to junior staff
