Minimum Requirements:

Education: Position requires a minimum of a high school diploma. Bachelor's degree, technical or trade school or demonstrated equivalent desired. Associate Degree in engineering/science or equivalent education or specific training in area of expertise.

Experience: Minimum 10 years radiological controls operation experience as a Sr. RCT certification or equivalent experience including an increasing variety of complex production activities and proven leadership of lower level Operators. Rad Con supervision or lead experience preferred. NRRPT certification preferred.

Due to the nature of this work, candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States.


Job Description:

URS Corporation is seeking a Radiological and Health Physics Program Development Professional to be based out of our Richland, WA location.

Participate in the development and validation of the procedures for the Radiological Safety program, primarily those associate with the task that will be performed by the WTP radiological control technicians when WTP begins operations. This will include field survey equipment, fixed and portable facility radiological safety equipment, counting room equipment, software implementation and program procedures and radiological equipment testing, calibration, and maintenance. Also participate in the development of training based on the procedures and radiological safety program.. These individuals will also participate in other program development related activities.

Perform oversight activities in association with radiological engineers to ensure the implementation of the Waste Treatment Plant Radiological Control Manual for radioactive material licensees at the site. Ensure proper performance and documentation of radiation and contamination surveys, dosimetry program implementation, collection and analysis of air samples, operate radiation, monitoring and gross radioactivity measuring instruments, other radiological safety field tasks and respond to emergency/off normal conditions. Ensure the radiological safety of workers by providing radiological guidance and support for various project activities. Ensure Performance of routine surveillance and maintenance of radiological postings and assessments of radiological controls at site facilities. Implement radioactive source management activities and ensure performance of technical receipt inspections and testing of radiological safety equipment. Participate in the management and control of radiological safety equipment and supplies.
