Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor' degree in engineering in an engineering discipline such as mechanical, electrical, electronics, civil, structural, or chemical engineering plus seven (7) years experience at the engineering level. Equivalent education/experience is applicable.
• Requires a real time command of governmental safety regulations for personnel, hardware, and environmental protection and a firm basic understanding of the technical foundation of the regulations, and multi-disciplined technical capability supporting broad project applications.
• Must be able to communicate technical and related budgetary and planning information, both verbally and in writing a must.
• Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
• Ability to interact with OEM, Program Offices, vendors, NSWC Crane, and URS systems, process and design engineers
• Position will require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Desired and Preferred Experience:
• A solid understanding of engineering principals as they apply to missile equipment
• Experience and understanding of Launch support systems
• Experience with MS Project
• DOD clearance (Secret)
• An understanding of US Navy Strategic Systems programs or other DoD equipment systems engineering

Job Description: URS is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Crane, Indiana. This position is contingent on contract award.
Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, the candidate will be responsible for supporting the design, analysis, integration and test requirements associated with missile support processes and provide all or some of the detailed design documents.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical leadership, training, instruction, and professional development assistance to, make work assignments for, review and approve the work of, and perform personnel management functions for a group/team of senior engineers, engineers, and other personnel.
2. Assign and prepare technical documentation that identifies the need for, cost evaluation of, specifications for, activation of, functional and safety analyses of, maintenance of and operator training for the specific set of assigned equipment or requirements for new equipment assigned to the group.
3. Provide scheduling, status, and coordination functions within URS, the Government and other contractors for projects assigned to the group.
4. Provide technical direction to technicians, engineers, inspectors, contractors, and others in the maintenance, repair, remanufacture, troubleshooting, and operation of assigned systems on a continuing or real time basis.
5. Monitor, report status, and control the operational use of assigned systems including compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and DOD requirements.
6. Provide leadership and coordination for troubleshooting, failure analysis, corrective action(s), and report preparation for accidents or failures. Provide, monitor, and control the performance of corrective actions.
7. Provide leadership, training and coordination to nurture a culture of Reliability Centered Maintenance philosophy which permeates all staffing levels and which enhances the entire maintenance program. Develop successful applications of advanced Predictive Testing and Inspection technologies to realize significant cost savings for planned maintenance activities.
8. Ensure that all operations are performed safely. This responsibility is constant and continuous from the conceptual design of systems, through procurement, activation, modification, and daily operations. Safe operations include compliance with applicable regulations and also includes knowledgeable, documented, and approved deviations from regulations based on sound technical analysis and judgement.
