The Sr. Manager, Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) works as a partner with the Government Services Group (GSG) business lines and with the AECOM Director of SH&E to develop and implement an SH&E Program across GSG.
The Sr. Manager, SH&E is a direct report to the GSG Director of SH&E. Responsibilities:
- Assists Director in Leading, supporting, developing, training and supervising GSG SH&E professionals.
- Interacts with GSG Director of SH&E to align GSG SH&E programs and initiatives with AECOM SH&E programs and initiatives.
- Works with the GSG business lines to implement AECOM SH&E programs across GSG and to provide support in the development and implementation of new SH&E initiatives.
- Provides and/or oversees SH&E training to GSG staff.
- Reviews and assists Project management in developing health and safety plans for GSG projects.
- Participates in conducting SH&E audits, site visits and inspections across GSG programs.
- Communicates audit/inspection results to the GSG Director of SH&E and to management and ensures that follow-up inspections are performed to ensure compliance with SH&E program standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Performs leadership role in incident investigation, case management and internal management reporting.
- Identifies deficiencies or areas needing loss control or compliance attention and assists management in the development of corrective measures.
- Provides monthly reports to the GSG Director of SH&E on the status of the SH&E Program elements including metrics, audit results and the status of corrective action items.
- Coordinates and advises project management on SH&E issues and requirements to ensure compliance with all AECOM program and regulatory requirements to include environmental standards.
Requirements:
- Candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental, industrial hygiene or relevant technical field.
- Candidate will have a minimum of 10-15 years technical experience in SH&E related positions with at least 5 years in a national or regional management role.
- Candidate must have background in facilities SH&E management and environmental compliance.
- Candidate must possess active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI level.
- Certification in safety, health and environmental related areas is desired.
- Candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of management experience.
- Candidate must be able to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations and support the Springfield Office location.
- Prior work experience in a variety of technical areas including construction management, program/facility management and design engineering and/or building engineering industries with a multi-national, multi-disciplined firm is highly desirable.
- Communication and training skills and experience are critical.
- A high level of analytical ability is required to develop solutions to difficult human, technical, and administrative problems.
