About the Role The project manager is responsible for traditional project management responsibilities to drive effective and successful project execution, including but not limited to:
- Business Case Development - Develop initial project business case documentation to capture basic project information, business justification, cost estimates, suggested resources, timeline information, key milestones, dependencies, performance information, and risk information.
- Project Management Artifacts - Prepare project management deliverables according to approved tailoring tool plan and government schedule. Prepare project management artifacts using established Agency project management and IT governance processes, tools and templates. Facilitate required reviews and approvals by government POC(s) and project stakeholders.
- Schedule and Cost Management - Prepare key project management artifacts to drive effective project scheduling and cost management according to approved tailoring tool plan. Facilitate required reviews and approvals by government POC(s) and project stakeholders.
- Risk and Issues Management - Document and maintain project risks in risk register. Document and maintain risk mitigation strategy. Document and maintain project issues.
- Change Management - Support the establishment and execution of project change control processes and supporting project change control board. Prepare project change requests for review and approval.
- Meeting Coordination and Execution - Schedule regular and ad-hoc project meetings. Prepare agendas, document meeting minutes and follow up action items list.
- Status Reporting and Presentation Support - Prepare and submit weekly status in project management information system. Prepare for project portfolio reviews. Support ad-hoc reporting and presentation requests. Prepare for required IT governance phase gate reviews.
- Provide specific technical expertise and business acumen as required to ensure successful implementation of technical solution.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of demonstrated Project Management experience.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in managing complex enterprise projects in a technology environment.
- Demonstrated content management and content management life cycle management policies experience.
- Understanding of website administration, including requirements related to the data layer and security considerations.
- Understanding of branding techniques and strategies.
- Proven track record of delivering strategic advisory services to senior t customers.
- Understanding of new technologies and the impacts on business processes.
- Deployment and implementation experience in a decentralized model (application, infrastructure). Experience implementing end user and admin training.
- 5+ years of experience in:
- Client management and understanding the client/stakeholder needs and requirements
- Drafting project plans; managing tasks, time, resources and cost
- Tracking and managing project financials and reporting to client\stakeholders
- PMP certification and or other equivalent project management certifications a plus.
- Previous experience working in the agile development methodology a plus.
