The Role As our Metals Specialist on Tesla's Vehicle Engineering team, you will have the opportunity influence Tesla's revolutionary vehicle product lines. Areas of focus include product development for metals applications and supporting Chassis and Body group. Responsibilities Lead long term advanced development projects related to aluminum castings and stampings Projects will address cost optimization, weight reduction, performance improvement, quality improvement. Focus will be on next generation technologies. Be the knowledge expert for all metal materials Provide technical support for other members of materials engineering team Collaborate with cross functional teams within Tesla Qualifications Strong knowledge/expertise in casting alloys and metals 5+ years of experience in materials engineering or metallurgy 10+ of industry experience Experience supporting the automotive or aerospace industries a plus Bachelor's/Master's degree in Materials or Metallurgy |
