Requisition ID: Position Duties/Responsibilities - Develops and implements communications strategy and associated communications plans for Bechtel Construction. Works with OG&C and Power communications teams as well as Corporate Affairs to align communications strategy and plans with overall enterprise/GBU plans.
- Develops communications plans on quality, safety, and performance to engage staff professionals world-wide and craft professionals on Bechtel projects in the Gulf Coast region. Works with projects to implement craft engagement plans and measure success.
- Develops and implements communication plan for global staff construction services including bulletins, organizational changes, major achievements, functional goals, and progress on strategic initiatives. Oversees and manages utilization of all available communications tools and media including email, Chatter, Box, BecWeb, etc.
- Develops, coordinates and archives special presentations as requested by the manager of construction or Gulf Coast operations manager required for customers, executives, managers, project teams, craft and other stakeholders.
- Develops marketing communications strategy for craft recruitment, including targeted recruitment of veterans and minority groups. Oversees and measures implementation of the strategy, including consultants/marketing agencies.
- Develops and implements communications plan for craft training in collaboration with local labor agencies and colleges, as appropriate.
- Develops and implements a community outreach program in the Gulf Coast in collaboration with OG&C Communications Manager.
- Retains and manages consultants and agencies (communications, marketing, advertising, videography, photography, etc.), as appropriate.
- Counsels management on critical public and internal communications issues, objectives, and planned responses. Provides guidance, coaching, and support with respect to effective communication strategies and techniques.
- Plans and manages communications budget, as appropriate.
- Manages communications and media relations processes and procedures for Bechtel Construction aligned with OG&C and Bechtel processes and procedures.
Position Skills - 8+ years of experience in communications with a proven track record in managing complex programs.
- Proven experience in organizational communications with a track record of implementing employee engagement programs.
- Good understanding of digital communications (including video production), and proven experience in managing social media tools and programs.
- Media relations and community giving experience a plus.
- Proven ability to define goals and deliverables and implement key programs on time and within budget.
- Good analytical and strategic planning skills: able to prioritize, balance short and long-term priorities and manage simultaneous projects.
- Good understanding of construction industry; project experience a plus.
- Familiar with current political, civic, business and economic trends in the Gulf Coast of the US.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience.
- Fluent in English, knowledge of Spanish a plus.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Masters in Communications or related field a plus.
