The Queensland Curtis LNG Project is a grass roots 2 Train Liquefied Natural Gas Facility that will be constructed on Curtis Island, (near Gladstone) Australia on a camp status, fly in/fly out basis for non-local personnel. It will be performed using a combination of Direct Hire and Construction Management of experienced specialist Australian Subcontractors methods.

Role Overview
The Supervisor, Tanks, will report to the General Superintendent in the execution of 2 x 140,000 m3 LNG tanks. This role will oversee the day to day activities of approximately 100 craft employees ensuring that the craft is working safely and efficiently regarding quality and productivity. The tank will consist of a concrete outer and 9% Nickel inner tank with an aluminum roof inside the containment also known as a suspended deck.
- Directs craft activities within the area of responsibility. Monitors and ensures that the quality of work performed meets requirements.
- Analyzes workforce, material, and equipment requirements, and coordinates the area discipline work plan requirements with others as designated by supervising superintendent.
- Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
- Prepares reports and forecasts, as required, and keeps superintendents informed on progress of overall assigned activities.
- Assists superintendents in the preparation of construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
- Supervises and directs subordinate manual craft as assigned.
- Ensures Zero Accident Philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
Basic Qualifications
- Knowledge of API 620 or 650 Tank Erection.
- Basic knowledge of welding SMAW, FCAW, and SAW.
- Extensive back ground in direct hire tank erection.
- LNG Tank background preferred but not essential.
Additional Information
Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities:
- extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces and some lifting may be required.
- Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress)
- Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
