The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOE's most technically challenging cleanup projects-equivalentto building two nuclear power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres (26 hectares) and includesfacilities for pretreatment, low-activity waste vitrification, and high-level waste vitrification, as well as an analytical laboratory. Positions located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) work a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm. Role Overview The Nuclear Safety and Quality Culture (NSQC) Program Specialist is responsible for assisting in the ongoingdevelopment and implementation of the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant Project (WTP) NSQCprogram in accordance with WTP Leadership expectations and the DOE and nuclear industry guidance and methodologies. This position reports to the WTP NSQC Program Manager and is a position within the WTP Project Programs organization. The nature of the assignment involves close working relationships with multiple project leaders at all levels of the organization, daily interface with the NSQC Program manager, and a degree of responsible independent execution of assignments to achieve program goals. The selected candidate will team with the NSQC Program Manager to assist with integration and ensuring NSQCconsiderations are adequately addressed in WTP work activities, processes, systems, programs, and tailored initiatives. Interface and collaborating with project leadership, managers, supervisors, and the WTP work force is expected on a frequent basis to support and sustain ongoing NSQC efforts. Will assist in organizing and leading a variety of collaborative team efforts to successful conclusions, and must be able to anticipate, evaluate, and execute changes or redirection promptly and effectively. Will monitor and assess the status of NSQC implementation, with the intention of informing and positively influencing the understanding of the leadership and work force on the health of the program. Expected to become familiar with and integrate current or anticipate regulations into program documents and project information, initiatives, and best practices necessary for implementing a strong NSQC and a safety conscious work environment (SCWE). Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to developing, preparing, and maintainingreporting metrics, performance measures, monthly report narratives, agendas, eRooms management, intranet website communications, and coordinating meeting planning. Additional duties encompass direct participation in developing and preparing documents necessary to facilitate and assess project implementation of NSQC and SCWE. This may include developing or revising plans, procedures,guides, assessments, employee surveys, training, and customer reports.
